The author of the review on the publication “Knygos“ (“Books”) reviews the history of the first personal Lithuanian library, which was written by the author Petras Jakštas (1899–1988) himself, who was the officer of the Lithuanian armed forces, the participant of the association of the 17th century book lovers and bibliophile. The reviewer notes that the destiny of P. Jakštas library was very dramatic, full of painful losses, as the life of the bibliophile himself, of which it would be interesting to learn more. The author’s text is supplemented and revised by the comments of Prof. Domas Kaunas, which also enable to better perceive the biography of the author.
